Make sure to shop around for mortgage quotes before refinancing with your current mortgage company.

Get a good faith estimate of closing costs.

View the Mortgage quote documents that you will be signing as soon as you can.

You will most likely have to provide documentation of assests and income.

If mortgage rates are increasing you will want to lock in a rate as soon as you can.

Extra inquiries to your credit could change you mortgage quote. Don't take out new credit cards, lines of credit, car loans, home equity credit lines.
