Mortgage Quoter - Part 2Why does a mortgage quoter do this to us?Most mortgage brokers do not try to work against their clients, but they are certainly not going to lose money on the transaction purposely. Why would they? They are in the mortgage business to make a profit. If they don't they have to go get another job to pay the bills. There are some that will bend over backward to get and keep any loan for a customer, and others that will try everything to make a buck off of your new real estate purchase. With that said you have to pick and choose your person. Are they rich looking to get richer? Are they poor looking to get rich? Are they poor trying to pay the bills like most of us? It doesn't really matter except that we have to know that no mortgage loan officer (or business owner for that matter) will be completely on our side when it comes to the push and shove. What you need to look for is an honest person who always lays everything on the table and doesn't try to hide fees or negative terms in the fine print.
